The bone game
Your move.
Nobody knows where he came from. He did not name the game.
He set the board between us, poured out the bones
and waited until we understood. By morning he was gone.
How do I play?
Your six wells are the bottom row; your store is the tall vessel on the right. Tap a well to sow its stones.
Bring more stones than the Stranger into your store — the tall well on your side.
Choose one of your wells. Its stones travel one by one to the right — well by well, into your store, then on into the Stranger's row.
If your last stone lands exactly in your store, you move again. Count before you choose: the nearest well needs 1 stone, the next 2, then 3, and so on.
If your last stone lands in one of your own empty wells, and the Stranger's well directly across is not empty, you capture both — your stone and all of his. Watch them fly into your store. The Stranger can do the same to you.
When one side's wells are empty, the other side keeps its remaining stones. Most stones in the store wins.
